GOAL
The Association of Women in Art-called ARFA is a professional organisation non-profit, non-governmental, which promote the creation of Romanian Women in Art within the contemporary artistic context.

OBJECTIVES
Producing, organisation, circulation of information about artistic events with trans-disciplinary and multi-media specific.
Promoting the recognition of the women's achievements in culture and of their social position of equal opportunities and rights, in Romanian and European context.
The achievements of cultural programs and projects in collaboration with other organisations or artistic personalities from Romania and abroad.
Facilitating, organizing and promoting the support of contemporary creation, by some specific cultural forms: concerts, shows, exhibitions, conferences, symposiums, workshops, debates, publications, etc.
Proposing to participate in achieving a complex image of Romanian genuine artistic creation of women, for a better implementation in the cultural world context..
Encouraging and supporting the young female artistic creation.
To ensure a coherent strategy and good cultural policies, ARFA is proposing to establish connections of collaboration with central and local authorities in-charge in cultural domain.
Supporting artistic collaboration between educational artistic institutions from Romanian and abroad.

HISTORY
ARFA was set up in April 2001, by the following fouders: the composer Mihaela Stanculescu-Vosganian (President), the choreographer Liliana Iorgulescu (vice-President) and the painter Marilena Preda-Sânc (member in the Director Commettee).
Presently ARFA has approximate 30 members, implicate involved in different art fields: composers, choreographers, performers, conductors, dancers, critics, actresses etc.
ARFA comprise Romanian Artists in Residence.
