The didactic-scientific museum "Grigore Cobălcescu" has in its patrimony over 25,000 samples of minerals, ores and rocks, of which only a part are exhibited in the halls of the museum and in the halls of the Department of Geology. The oldest exhibits belong to the Krantz collection, purchased by Professor Grigore Cobălcescu in 1888 from Dr. F. Krantz, Rheinisches mineralien-Kontor, Bonn.
