The Fire Tower is a historic and architectonic monument, built in 1892. It functioned as Fire Tower and water reservoir. It offers an overview of Bucharest from 50 meter high circular balcony. The exhibits arranged in chronological order on six floors, starting from the top one, illustrate the history of fire extinguishing: Romanian and foreign military and civil uniforms, documents, manuscripts, maps, photographs of the great fires in Bucharest, side and fire arms, models of firemen’s equipment, Romanian fire extinguishing equipment, used from 1774, flags, medals. Established in 1963, as a History Museum Department of the city of Bucharest, it was transferred to the Ministry of the In...ternal Affairs in 1972. In 1992 it became th National Firemen’s Museum. The museum owns goods listed in the National Cultural Heritage Treasure.
