The Oil Museum - it is housed in a beautiful building in Bagdazar Arsenie street, no. 8 Ploieşti, which allowed the setting up of some impressive rooms and a courtyard that was transformed into an outdoor exhibition. The Petroleum Museum was inaugurated in October 1961, being the only museum of its kind in Romania and among the only museums of its kind in Europe. Its establishment in Ploiesti represents a recognition of the city's status within the oil industry in our country. Since 2017, the Petroleum Museum has been under the administration of the Prahova County Museum of Natural Sciences and was reopened to visitors in February 2018. The Petroleum Museum's heritage, which includes a ...number of 9,924 museum objects, includes machinery used in the petroleum industry, invention patents , scientific papers, albums, over 300 autograph letters and about 100 document photos of Lazăr Edeleanu, the founder of Romanian and universal petrochemicals.
