The Sinaia Monastery is a monastic complex (founder of the Great Archduke of Romania, Mihai Cantacuzino) consisting of: the old church, built at the end of the 17th century, the new church built in 1903 on the site of another one from 1843-1846, the bell tower built in 1891 , as well as cell bodies erected between 1690 – 1695, 1840-1847. In 1953, major repairs were made to the new church and bell tower, and after the Revolution, the original painting of Pârvu Mutu was restored by the painter Ion Chiriac, in the old church, re-consecrated in 2015. The monastery also has a rich mobile heritage represented by 350 volumes of old books, clothes, paintings and icons of the Brancoven, Ru...ssian, Greek school, the remarkable ones being those created by Pârvu Mutu, known among the saints as St. Pafnutius), old furniture, a temple, precious metal objects , with precious stones), and other church objects; in total almost 600 movable heritage objects. It is among the first museums of religious art in Romania, opened in 1892 in the former royal salons (King Carol I and Queen Elizabeth lived the summers of 1871-1883 in the new premises, supervising the construction of Peleş Castle from here). In the old premises is the tomb of Take Ionescu, former prime minister after the First World War.
