The museum is housed in the building of the former boys primary school. In 1976 the building was turned into a natural sciences museum and because of the poor state of preservation it needed complex repair work. Between 1976 and 1989 here functioned a temporary exhibition, and between 1990 and 1996 the building was entirely rebuilt. In 2001 the permanent exhibition was completed. The museum comprises collections of mineralogy, petrography, palaeontology, paleozoology, botany, malacology, entomology, ornithology and mammalogy. They include very rare collections in the museums of the country: bark beetles, golden wasps, paleoflora samples and mine flora, the "Bukovina Flora" herbar...ium, big mammals from Bukovina forests.
