The museum presents ethnography collections (folk art items, costumes, artefacts illustrating the local trades and customs) and natural sciences collections. The collection was assembled by former teacher Radu Gegea. The museum was restored with support of Mera Commune Council and Culture Directorate Vrancea. It was opened on September 21, 2012, in the presence of the founder's daughter, Zizica Contineanu.
