The studio is housed in a building erected by the Romanian painter Aurel Popp (1879 - 1960), between 1934 and 1935, and functioned as his studio until his death in 1960. From then onwards the building was used as a construction materials storehouse. Between 1998 and 2000 the building was restored, then the "Aurel Popp" Memorial Studio was established here. The exhibits include paintings, sculptures, graphics, photographs, books, documents, personal belongings and pieces of furniture.
